The goal of ecosforge.net is to foster the development of new and innovative packages for the eCos real time operating system. As opposed to the main eCos cvs, where the contents are always supposed to be stable and of production quality, ecosforge.net is intended to be the place where developers can work together on not-yet-finished code. But in the end the goal should always be to move the packages to the main eCos cvs once it's stable and finished. eCos is licensed under the GPL+exception, which makes it possible to write closed source firmware using the open source eCos. This is the reason why GPL or LGPL software is not accepted in the main eCos cvs. On ecosforge we have a dedicated "department" ecosforge/packages_gpl/ for such packages. So if you have ported some GPL or LGPL software to eCos, the ecosforge.net subversion repository is the place for you ! Alex test
